General Ledger (GL)

This is the number that specifically identifies the GL area, department, or cost center that the charge item is associated with. This is your unique general ledger or cost center identifier for a specific department.

The GL column, also known as the General Ledger column, simply states the accounting number assigned to each specific department.

Example: LAB_HEMAT would be a Laboratory Hematology Department.

Supervisors can assign GL Type to departments using the GL Type Manager.
