Craneware Insights
There are at least three ways compliance and coding alerts can be communicated
between the CDM Maintenance team and other members of the charge capture
process.
- Give compliance and operations
managers access to Chargemaster Toolkit™ where they can examine billing
codes in the compliance tab and read the related compliance alerts.
- CDM maintenance team
use the messaging function to notify relevant managers of alerts they
feel are particularly important.
- Encourage Craneware Online
users to enroll for the Craneware Insights service. Based on the relevant
GL to which a user is linked Craneware will e-mail alerts without further
action by the client. No response is required.
Options checklist:
- Provide key users access
to view the Toolkit active window and participate in management of the
compliance tab.
- Manage communications
from a central review point using CWOnline messaging memos thereby documenting
the correspondence as part of the Toolkit audit trail.
- Sign up users for Craneware
Insights, an automated e-mail notification service with compliance and
other alerts as they are tracked by the Craneware Data Team.
Key information and lessons from the field:
- As employees
change roles, join and leave the organization it will be important to
develop a process for notifying the Craneware
so that security settings are updated and the relevant participants are
included in the communications network for key compliance alerts.
- Unsolicited
communications can be overwhelming in a mailbox already inundated with
day-to-day correspondence. It is important to consider the most effective
method of engaging different participants in the ongoing compliance communication
and education process. CWOnline can establish a system of accountability
by allowing you to request a response from the recipient that they have
read and understand the information. On the other hand the distribution
of information requires a commitment to maintain a disciplined process.
- One option
is to begin with the most comprehensive communications program and survey
participants in 3-4 months to evaluate its impact. As with all user options,
the Toolkit is flexible to accommodate changes in your process over time.
