Software and file install process
Once your
has been processed by Craneware Client Services team you are ready to
begin the software installation process. Depending on the size and resources
of your hospital you may choose several alternative approaches including
the following:
Options checklist:
- Hospital IMS
staff install the software and CDM files with guidance from the Installation
& Training team.
- The Installation and
Training team install the software and CDM files remotely onto several
independent workstations through a WebEx session.
- The Installation and
Training team install the software and data files on several independent
workstations at the beginning of their on-site visit immediately prior
to the on-site training.
The Toolkit can operate in one of two modes:
- Network
mode — Single or multiple hospital CDM files are stored on a networked
location of your choice and accessible from multiple workstations.
- Standalone
mode — Single or multiple hospital CDM files are stored and maintained
on a single workstation.
Key information and lessons from the field:
- Providers who
operate within a network environment share a single
accessed only through the Toolkit. The Toolkit operates a departmental
sharing mechanism which limits one user at a time to access the data.
Once a department is checked-out no one else can make edits until the
department is checked-in. Other users may still however, view the data
while it is checked out by another user.
- Users are unable
to access departments for editing while another user has them checked
out. The Toolkit provides two mechanisms to assist this process:
- User permissions may
be configured to automatically check-in the files anytime a user closes
the software.
- The
may force the check-in of any department. When this is invoked any changes
not already checked back in by the user are lost.
- In a multi-hospital
environment users may view the files side by side (like having several
spreadsheets open).
- Clients using
the Interface Scripting Module will be contacted separately by the ISM
Support Team shortly after Chargemaster Toolkit™ Training has taken place.
