Best practice unit 3
Following are examples we have observed among our best performing hospitals.
- Provider networks
with significant numbers of users have implemented the network data model
with accountability in the CDM maintenance team for monitoring new release
notes, importing software updates and identifying and training additional
users. CDM team evaluates readiness of potential users and maintains a
master list of both potential users and active users.
- Early adopters
in best practice hospitals volunteer for participation by invitation and
are targeted to include members of pricing staff, compliance staff, Health
Information Management and large outpatient departments including pharmacy,
lab and radiology to spread organization awareness of the Toolkit.
- Early adopters
are encouraged to participate with limited accountability and security
rights until they are comfortable navigating the product features. The
number of users with ‘edit authority’ is restricted to the CDM maintenance
team to control the workflow during the transition period.
