On August 19, 2013, CMS released the Federal Register copy of the FY 2014 final rules for changes to the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems (IPPS) and Long Term Care Hospital PPS (CMS-1599-F). The final rule contains major changes which will significantly impact hospitals and physicians. Due to the significance of these revisions, Craneware will issue several Insight articles in which each article will provide focus on specific revision to FY 2014 IPPS. This insight will focus on the complexities the inpatient admission criteria.
